DEEP ROOTS

Family-owned and operated since 1922

Our company began in 1922 on the farm of our great-great
grandfather of the current management, brothers Jim and Todd
Gillespie. The firm operated out of the original Dudley’s Corner
location in Sudlersville for 60 years.

In 1963 concrete block and ready mix operations were seated in Chestertown, Maryland and in 1971 all operations were consolidated in Chestertown when the company invested in a new precast plant.

Continued growth in the precast market ultimately led to the establishment of Gillespie Precast in 2005, operating out of a separate facility in Chestertown, Maryland and servicing clients in the broader mid Atlantic area.

In 2022 at our 100 year Anniversary Gillespie was selected as a key business growth sector for the state of Maryland and was honored to host Governor Larry Hogans in his economic growth tour.
